Ascenty, the leading data center company focused on the Latin American market, announces that it will start operations at its data center in the town of Paulínia, Brazil. With a BRL 150 million investment, the project has 7,000 sqm of floor space and 16 MVA of power, and will seek to meet the growing demand of companies for high-quality data center solutions.
“The onset of operations at the new unit in Paulínia is another major step in Ascenty’s expansion plan. The Campinas metro area is an extremely strategic region because of its privileged location, proximity to the main access roads to São Paulo and the main municipalities in the region, where some of our larger clients are located,” said Roberto Rio Branco, Ascenty’s VP of Marketing and Institutional Relations.
“The strong growth of the global data center market is expected to continue, and we are well positioned to meet this demand in Latin America. As we join Digital Realty’s global platform and partner with Brookfield Infrastructure, our customers will have access to one of the world’s largest interconnected data center networks and to the benefits of one of Brazil’s largest asset managers in the infrastructure and private equity segments,” added Marcos Siqueira, Ascenty’s VP of Operations.
Ascenty will have 16 data centers operating in Brazil by the end of 2019. The company has also recently announced that it will build its first data center in Chile, scheduled for launch in July 2020.
