Ascenty opens second data center in Vinhedo

Ascenty, the leading data center company focused on the Latin American market, added yet another data center to its network. Located at the company’s mega campus in the town of Vinhedo, the facility is expected to start operations in the second half of 2020. The company invested BRL 200 million in the data center, which has 24,000 sqm in floor space and raises the power capacity in the campus to 40 MVA.

“With this second facility in Vinhedo, we now have 18 data centers in our portfolio, which means that we have more than doubled our operations since 2018, when we had eight data centers operating in Brazil,” said Marcos Siqueira, VP of Operations at Ascenty.

“This growth rate (125%) was made possible by the investments received from Digital Realty and Brookfield over the past year. Our business growth has been driven by strong demand for infrastructure in the region, which is growing along with the cloud market and innovations in the telecommunications market,” he highlighted.

Altogether, Ascenty has 14 data centers operating in Brazil and four others under construction, which are expected to open by the end of 2020. The company connects all facilities to its dedicated fiber-optic network (4,500 kilometers), ensuring direct connectivity to global cloud providers.
